Benjamin I. Schwarcz, CPA CFE
Benjamin received his NYS Certified Public Accountant license in October 2009, and his Certified Fraud Examiner certification in December 2009. Benjamin has also received a certificate from the CCH IRS Representation Certification Program in July 2014.
Benjamin has been practicing public accounting since 2007. Prior to that he worked in the private sector as a corporate accountant for several years. During his time in public accounting he worked on individual and business clients in various industries, including real estate developers, residential and commercial real estate rentals properties, hotels, restaurants, manufacturers, and tax-exempt organizations. The services he provided for these clients, included audits, reviews, compilations, client advisory services and tax return preparations.
Benjamin represented numerous clients during IRS and NYS audits, including during the IRS appeal process, and NYS conciliation conferences. The audits included both income tax and sales and use tax audits, including complicated like-kind exchange transactions.
He has also done forensic accounting and fraud examination work under “Kovel arrangements” with criminal defense attorneys during law enforcement investigations.
Benjamin received his Bachelor of Science degree in 2006 from the State University of New York at Empire State College, with a major in Business, Management and Economics.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
